Dr. Shaposhnikov completed her undergraduate work at Yale University, earning a bachelor of science in molecular biochemistry. She obtained her medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo. During that time, Dr. Shaposhnikov was one of six people selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to investigate an outbreak of hepatitis B in Brazil.
